By understanding the political landscapes we inhabit, we can better map the terrain of our inner and outer worlds as we blaze trails toward freedom.

Our autumn study theme is PRATYAHARA: Quieting the senses and turning inward.

At this springtime celebration, we’ll honor mothers and gender expansive caregivers, listening to the lessons they’ve learned from the Earth about survival, sustainability, creativity, courage, strength, struggle, family, fun, home, habitat, loss and love.

Inspired by visionary Black woman writer Octavia E. Butler, this summer solstice shared learning space honors the timeless spiritual-political wisdom of her life and work, including the books Parable of the Sower and Parable of the Talents.

Black August is an annual observance of the legacy of radical Black thought and action, a time of reflection, political education, and commemoration of resistance against systemic racism, oppression, and injustice.

At this celebration, we’ll honor those who’ve paved the way for a more just future, and lay flowers at the feet of those blazing trails at present.
